Fat Grafting
Recently, fat grafting has become a popular addition to almost any procedure. Fat adds volume to areas that lose youthful-looking fat due to factors such as age, weight loss, and pregnancy. Unlike injectable dermal fillers, fat grafting uses your own excess fat from areas of the body including the abdomen, knees, and thighs. Dermal fillers typically last 6–12 months, while fat grafting can be a permanent fix for volume loss.
Many patients express interest in enhancing the shape, contour, or volume of their buttocks through a Brazilian Butt Lift. Surgeons can add fat to the buttocks either independently or with liposuction, abdominoplasty, or lower body lift procedures.
Candidates for Fat Grafting
- You are in generally good health
- Patients who have had weight fluctuations leaving them with a loss of volume in certain areas (post-bariatric, post-pregnancy)
- You have had certain areas of volume loss due to natural aging
- Patients that do not take testosterone or other hormone replacement therapy
The Fat Grafting Procedure
Dr. Behmand will use specialized low-pressure liposuction to harvest your fat for grafting. After removing impurities, and isolating the best fat cells, he will carefully inject small droplets into the desired areas. The total fat volume injected depends on several factors. These include the body areas being treated, the desired amount of change, and the availability of fat from the donor site.
Recovery From Fat Grafting
“I can’t fully express how grateful I am to have found you! You are AMAZING! Even though it is early in my recovery I already see the difference and know it will only improve. Thank you for peeling away the layers to reveal the extreme hotness that was hiding underneath it all!”
